Aetna Unveils 2027 Medicare Plans Focused on Low-Cost Care Access
Aetna's 2027 Medicare offerings emphasize $0 copays on key services and drugs, aiming to reduce out-of-pocket costs for members.
Aetna has released details on its 2027 Medicare plan lineup, positioning the offerings around affordability and broad access to preventive care. The plans are designed to reduce financial barriers that often discourage seniors from seeking routine medical attention, according to the company.
Among the notable cost features, enrollees would face no copays on Tier 1 prescription drugs and covered vaccines when using in-network pharmacies. Preventive screenings — including annual physicals, colonoscopies, and mammograms — would also carry $0 copays at in-network providers, a benefit that health-policy advocates have long identified as critical to early disease detection among Medicare-eligible populations.

The plans additionally include $0 copays for an annual Healthy Home Visit conducted by a licensed clinician through Signify Health, a home-health platform. The 2027 plan details arrive as Medicare Advantage insurers face intensifying regulatory scrutiny and pressure to demonstrate genuine member value amid rising healthcare utilization costs. Aetna, a CVS Health subsidiary, is competing in a crowded marketplace where benefit differentiation on everyday cost-sharing has become a primary enrollment driver for price-sensitive beneficiaries.
